Censor request
2001-08-15 5:43 p.m.

I recieved this email today:

I have been reading your site, and enjoying it.

You, however, use language and express your thoughts in a way that some people will be put off by. On the 12'th you used the kind of language that I had yet to see on Diaryland.

This site is visited by people of all ages.

I'm not telling you what to write, but you might want to re-think how you write it.

For the past couple of weeks, xxxxxxxxxxxx has provided you with a complimentary link. I have temporarily delinked your site, but would like to relink it, if you would refrain from the use of certain expressions.

For example: You can say 'that person fucked me up' but should avoid saying 'we fucked'. As far as your pussy statement, dear talented young moody person, just say, go down on, or something like that. We all know what you mean and will appreciate your subtlety.

Let me know what you think.

I'd like to put your site back on my .zine page...............

Take care,

xxxxxxxxxxx

This was my response:

I appreciate that you have provided a link on your site to my diary. However; I never requested that you do so, and will not censor my diary by your request. I use this diary as an actual diary. To express what I'm really feeling. I censor my self all day long. In my diary I just want to be honest. I'm not sure where I ever used the statement 'we fucked' and am doubtful that I ever did.

As for the Sex and the City quote. That's just what it was, a quote from a very popular TV show.

And you obviously have not delved very deep into diaryland if my diary is the raciest you've read.

In conclusion, I think that for the most part my diary is fairly tasteful, but I will not change it to suit anyone else's needs.
